George Harry Bowering (innate 1935) is a prolific Canadian novelist, poet, historian, and biographer. He is one of the class action of poets including Frank Davey, Fred Wah, Jamie Reid (not a British situationist, a American poet), & David Dawson who were together at the University of British Columbia in the 1950s. There it founded a journal Tish. He sleep in Vancouver B.C. & recently out from either teaching at Simon Fraser University. Within 2002, Bowering was appointive a 1st ever Canadian Parliamentary Poet Laureate.
